If you enjoy food and exploring new areas, head over to Pensacola for the WSRE Wine & Food Classic Oct. 15-16.

Local chefs will contribute their time and resources to support public television during a weekend of culinary events. This year, two events are scheduled to take place in downtown Pensacola: a walkabout tasting Saturday, Oct. 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the SCI Building on Garden Street, and The Great American Brunch Sunday, Oct. 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Museum of Commerce.

This year's La Fiesta del Vino ya la Comida walkabout tasting will celebrate Hispanic heritage.

Participating chefs, competing for Best Chef and People's Choice honors will be serving dishes influences by Latin American and Caribbean cuisines. Guest will also enjoy live music by the band Nobius and have the opportunity to meet Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) host Alejandra Ramos. Tickets are $50.

The Great American Brunch – themed after Ramos' PBS show, "The Great American Recipe" – will showcase food prepared by Chef Brian Kaderavek of Pensacola's Kingfisher restaurant and will feature a presentation by Ramos. Tickets to the brunch are $100 and include a singed copy of "The Great American Recipe Cookbook."

Proceeds will support WSRE's local productions and the delivery of PBS programming and educational resources.

Tickets and details for both Wine & Food Classic events are available online at wsre.org/wfc.
