FAIRHOPE, Ala.—Terry Thompson Chevrolet has signed on as title sponsor for the 23rd Annual Mayor’s Golf Tournament, a signature fundraiser for the Fairhope Educational Enrichment Foundation, set for Friday, March 25, at Quail Creek Golf Course.
“The Mayor’s Golf Tournament is one of FEEF’s biggest fundraisers, providing much-needed funds for the Fairhope public schools,” stated Ginger Taylor, president of the FEEF board of directors, in a news release for the group. “We are so grateful for Terry Thompson Chevrolet’s support, and for taking the lead in encouraging others to support our public schools. ”
Registration and lunch for this 18-hole tournament will begin at 11:30 a.m., March 25, followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start, played as a four-player scramble. An awards ceremony and seafood buffet provided by Wintzell’s Oyster House immediately follows the tournament.
Door prizes, closest-to-the-pin prizes and hole-in-one prizes, are provided by area retailers and businesses.
Co-chairmen for the tournament are Jack Burrell and Mark Breslin.
“The community has been very generous in years past, helping us raise about $60,000 annually with this tournament,” Taylor stated. “Last year, we awarded a record amount in classroom grants, underscoring the impact a generous community can have on the public schools.”
