SILVERHILL, Alabama -- Crowds gathered early for the 10th Annual Gear Jammers Car Club Memorial Car Show Saturday in downtown Silverhill Cars were still rolling in at 10:30 a.m. as more than 200 vintage cars, trucks and motor cycles participated in Saturday's event, which was dedicated this year to the memory of Eddie "Papa" Denk, who died Sept. 18, 2012. Denk was a veteran and he worked for Baldwin EMC for 32 years. He had a lawn care business and was also a vegetable farmer. The car show featured cars from the 1900s on up to the modern era from five different states is expected. Food was prepared by the Silverhill Covenant Church and the Save the Little Hall Committee hosted a bake sale. The event once again served as a fundraiser for Save The Little Hall, as well as Catholic Social Services, Project C.A.R.E. Food Pantry and Silverhill Boy Scout Troop 42.
