Spanish Fort and Daphne high school athletes will enter next year with new turf fields and tracks.
Sports Turf Company, a specialty sports construction and surfacing company, recently announced it has been awarded the artificial turf field and track renovation for the two Baldwin County Public Schools campuses beginning construction this winter.
“Sports Turf is excited to provide both Baldwin County high schools with improved athletic facilities to enhance their programs,” Sports Turf Company President Todd Wiggins said. “In an area that receives a great amount of rainfall, these artificial turf systems will allow for less rainouts and maintenance during the football season.”
Sports Turf Company will renovate both high schools’ existing natural grass stadium fields into a dual-fiber artificial turf system. By combining slit film and high-micron fibers into one system, AstroTurf’s Rhino Blend system offers both durability and aesthetics.
In addition to the field renovations, the existing eight-lane running track surface at Spanish Fort will be resurfaced with Rekortan BSS synthetic track surfacing. Daphne will receive new long jump/triple jump runways and pole vault event area.
Sports Turf specializes in the construction and installation of sports surfaces, including natural grass and artificial turf fields, tennis courts and track surfaces across five states, from colleges to professional venues.
