Whether you are planning a night out, looking to learn something new or hoping to give back, the calendar is packed with options across Baldwin County.

Alongside the many Valentine’s and Mardi Gras events taking place throughout the area, a variety of workshops, performances, community gatherings and family-friendly activities are scheduled in the days ahead. From live music and fundraisers to interactive entertainment and educational programs, there is no shortage of ways to stay busy and engaged.

STARTING A BUSINESS IN BALDWIN COUNTY WORKSHOP

What: The Alabama Small Business Development Center will host an in-person workshop focused on how to start a business in Baldwin County. The session is designed for entrepreneurs of all ages and will cover LLC development, business licenses, tax responsibilities, financing options and available resources to start and grow a business. The workshop is presented in partnership with the Baldwin County ASBDC and the Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce. Registration is required. 2ND ANNUAL AXE YOUR EX

What: Bier Shack Taproom will host its 2nd annual Axe Your Ex event featuring axe throwing, specialty drinks and a lighthearted atmosphere focused on fun and release. Guests are encouraged to bring a photo of an ex or past frustration to symbolically let go while enjoying time with friends. WESTERN MURDER MYSTERY DINNER

What: Wales West Light Railway will present an interactive Western-themed murder mystery dinner aboard an authentic locomotive excursion. Guests will join Sheriff Gunn and a colorful cast of characters to solve a mystery through clue analysis, suspect interrogation and audience participation. The experience includes an appetizer before departure, a full meal with dessert, photos with cast members, prizes for top sleuths and access to the putt-putt golf course after the show. PENSTERS FEBRUARY MEETING

Outlaw is a retired educator and author of multiple local history books including "Baldwin County," "Daphne," "Foley" and "Haunted Baldwin County." Seating is limited and reservations are required. TROPICAL RE-UNION WEDDING VOW RENEWAL CEREMONY

What: Couples are invited to renew their wedding vows during a Tropical Re-Union ceremony at LuLu’s Gulf Shores. The free Valentine’s celebration includes flowers, wedding cake, champagne toast, photos and a renewal certificate. What: The Sixth Annual Be My Valentine event will benefit Mary’s Shelter Gulf Coast, a home for homeless pregnant women. The event includes a $10,000 door prize, live and silent auctions, lunch and music by Tom Gordon. Proceeds support shelter services, counseling and transitional housing programs. GULF MARDI PAWS PARADE

What: The Gulf will host the Gulf Mardi Paws parade celebrating Mardi Gras with dogs and their owners. The event includes a dog parade, costume contest, themed cocktails, featured food items, live DJ music and appearances by Zeke’s Paws Rescue with adoptable pets. Donations of pet supplies are encouraged. All dogs must be leashed and well behaved.
