The Wisconsin Sno-bird Club is kicking off the new year with a packed schedule of events and activities for members escaping the winter chill.
The group will gather at the Orange Beach Event Center near The Wharf on Wednesday, Jan. 22, for their monthly meeting, starting with coffee and donuts at 8:30 a.m., followed by the meeting promptly at 9 a.m.
The meeting will feature sign-ups for several upcoming February events, including the 8-Pin No Tap Bowling Event on Feb. 11, a potluck lunch on Feb. 12, Trivia Night on Feb. 22 and a picnic on Feb. 26. Members can also take advantage of reduced-rate golfing at GlenLakes Golf Course and participate in card games held every Friday at 9 a.m. at the Lighthouse.
For singles in the group, January offers two opportunities to connect and socialize. The Singles Club will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 11:30 a.m. at Wolf Bay, located at 24131 Perdido Beach Blvd. in Orange Beach. Another gathering is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 4 p.m. at Groovy Goat in OWA.
In addition to social and recreational activities, the Wisconsin Sno-bird Club collects items for charitable causes, including box tops and logos from General Mills and Johnson & Johnson products, motel-sized soaps and toiletries, empty ink cartridges and pop-top rings.
