Wilma L. Jayjohn

Wilma L. Jayjohn, age 83, passed away peacefully on Sat., Jan. 18, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. Born on Dec. 29, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Edith Moon.

A graduate of McDowell High School, Wilma had a diverse and fulfilling career. She worked with Harry Wineraub in Cleveland, Ohio, at G.C. Murphy Co. in the West Erie Plaza, The Homemaker Shop, and retired from Kwik Fill Refinery.

Wilma shared 60 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Donald "Larry" Jayjohn. Together they raised three children: sons Donald (Bonnie) of Millcreek and Ronald (Kimberly) of Goodyear, Arizona, and daughter Beverly (Debi) Jayjohn of Saegertown. She was also a proud grandmother to six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Wilma is also survived by her brother Louis (Margie) Moon of Scottsdale, Arizona; sisters-in-law Kathryn Moon of McKean and Martha Jayjohn of Kentucky; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Jessica Jayjohn and brothers Glen, Robert, and Clifford Moon.

Wilma was deeply involved in her community throughout her life. She served as Treasurer and Secretary of the West Lake Fire Department Auxiliary and as President of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 773. Her volunteer efforts included contributions to the Millcreek Township Fourth of July Parade committee, the Times Old Newsies, Salon 100 8/40, and the Welcoming Center in Fairhope, Alabama. Additionally, she held officer positions in several bowling leagues over the years.

Services for Wilma were private. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her legacy of love and service bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
