The Gulf Coast Resource Conservation & Development Council awarded an $11,263 grant to the White House Fork Volunteer Fire Department for a fire hydrant expansion project. This grant covered the purchase of four new fire hydrants benefiting over 2,500 residents.

The White House Water System partnered with the White House Fork Volunteer Fire Department to install the new hydrants in strategic places throughout the community. The Gulf Coast RC&D Council provides grant opportunities for non-profit organizations to implement projects for community development, conservation education, and natural resources conservation.

The Gulf Coast RC&D Council serves Baldwin, Mobile, and Escambia Counties, and the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. The Gulf Coast RC&D Council, through support of local legislators, are dedicated to conserving, enhancing and developing the Gulf Coast RC&D Council area.
