Rain, rain, go away, everyone wants to get out and play. The summer storms seem to want to stick around so do not waste a single moment of sunshine this weekend. The children may not be happy to hear that it is back-to-school sales tax holiday this weekend but don't miss your chance to save a little money and get those school clothes and supplies. Tanger Outlet is trying to make the weekend fun for everyone with a Food Truck Festival. If shopping this weekend doesn't sound fun head to Fairhope Brewing Company for Mardi Gras in July. It is sure to be a rocking fun time. Whatever you do this weekend make sure to take advantage of those vitamin D moments when they appear and stay off the beach if there is lightning nearby.

"Little Shop of Horrors" auditions

What: Exit Stage Left is holding auditions for their upcoming fall performance of "Little Shop of Horrors." The show is open to performers ages 16 and up. For more information or to sign up, visit exitstageleft.org.

Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday

What: Grab your wallets and the children and get your back-to-school shopping done this weekend. It is Alabama's 17th-annual sales tax holiday for school related items. Pick up school supplies, clothing, computers and more. For more information on what items are tax-free and participating cities, visit alabamaretail.org.

When: Friday, July 15, beginning at 12:01 a.m. through midnight Sunday, July 17

Summer Food Truck Festival

What: Enjoy a day of food trucks, live music, activities and back-to-school tax free shopping at Tanger Outlets. Tanger Outlets will also have giveaways all day, lawn games and face painting.

When: Saturday, July 16, from noon until 4 p.m.

Where: Tanger Outlets, 2601 S. McKenzie St., Foley

Price: Free to attend. Food truck menu prices vary.

Mardi Gras in July

What: Mardi Gras in July? Yes, it is a thing, and it is a rocking fun time. The Fairhope Brewing Company's annual daylong event will feature 20 beers on tap, food trucks, commemorative glassware and live music from the Blow House Brass Band, Petty for Your Thoughts and Disco Kiss.

When: Saturday, July 16, from 1 until 10 p.m.

Where: Fairhope Brewing Company, 914 Nichols Ave., Fairhope

Price: $10 cover charge

Pinky Bass – Bodies of Work

What: Award-winning photographer and mixed media artist Pinky Bass will be the featured speaker at the Fairhope Unitarian Fellowship. She will speak on the newest exhibition at the Eastern Shore Art Center: Bodies of Work. The exhibit features works by Carolyn DeMeritt, Sonja Langford and Bass.

When: Sunday, July 17, at 10:45 a.m.
