The 2022 Hangout Music Fest is just one week away from taking over Gulf Shores, which means it is time to plan your weekend. Are planning to stay at the beach for the whole weekend or drive down early each day for a prime spot? If you plan to grab a bite to eat before you head into the festival area or want a spot for a break from dancing in the sun, we have some local eatery recommendations within a short walk of the festival area. These are ranked in no particular order.

The Beli – The Original Beach Deli (Seven-minute walk)
Where: 408 W. Beach Blvd.
Hours: 10 a.m.-3 p.m., closed Sunday

The Beli has something on their menu to suit every belly. If you are in town early to be one of the first into the Hangout Music Fest, stop in and grab breakfast. The breakfast menu is served until 11 a.m. The lunch menu has a selection of specialty sandwiches like the Brown Eyed Girl, an avocado BLT with chive mayo on toasted multigrain, or build your own perfect sandwich.

Lauria’s by the Beach (Seven-minute walk)
Where: 412 W. Beach Blvd.
Hours: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday through Thursday

The menu at Lauria’s by the Beach ranges from a cinnamon raisin crunch bagel and a hot Italian beef sandwich to a build-your-own charcuterie board option. There is also a wide selection of cocktails and wine.

De Soto’s Seafood Kitchen (Four-minute walk)

De Soto’s Seafood Kitchen has been a Gulf Coast tradition for 20 years. Take a break from the music and sun and grab a coastal bite to eat. The seafood is fresh, and the atmosphere is casual. The coconut shrimp is the specialty of the house, but they also offer chicken, pasta and steaks.

Pink Pony Pub (One-minute walk)
Where: 137 E. Gulf Place

Pink Pony Pub is an iconic beach front spot to grab a bite and a frosty beverage. The menu has something for everyone from salads and po-boys to New Orleans barbecue shrimp and ribeye steak. The bar menu has everything you could need to cool off from beer to a classic strawberry daiquiri.

Gulf Island Grill (Five-minute walk)
Where: 244 E. Beach Blvd.
Hours: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday through Saturday

Gulf Island Grill is known for its unique tropical flavors and smoked ribs. The menu has a wide range to please everyone in your party and is only a short walk away from the Gulf Place Public Beach area. The Caribbean flavors pop up throughout the menu with items like Caribbean shrimp kabobs and jerk chicken sandwich. The cocktail menu features a wide selection of wine, beer and house specialty drinks like the Gulf Island Bucket, a huge drink in a souvenir sand bucket that is filled with long island liquor, sour, cranberry and sprite.
