Vivian Sibley passed away peacefully on Nov. 16, 2024. Born in Charleston, West Virginia on Jan. 29, 1931, Vivian graced the world for 93 years, leaving a lasting impression on both her family and friends.
Vivian, formerly known by her maiden name Swanberg, dedicated over five decades to her passion for horses. Her generosity extended to teaching others in the art of dressage, where many of her students fondly remember her guidance and wisdom. Beyond her equestrian pursuits, she possessed an appreciation for music, flowers, and antiques, which reflected her vibrant personality and love for life. Vivian cherished the joy of travel and held a special fondness for the festivities of Mardi Gras, which allowed her to revel in both culture and community spirit.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Diane (Mackey) Nolte; her son, Scott Sibley; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her legacy of passion and kindness. Vivian’s spirit and warmth will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege to know her.
Vivian is reunited in eternal rest with her beloved husband, Ralph Sibley, and her son, Stephen Sibley, who predeceased her. Their memories remain a source of comfort for her family, as they reflect on the beautiful life she led.
A graveside service in celebration of Vivian's life will take place on Fri., Nov. 22, 2024, at Memory Gardens of Fairhope, located at 19142 Greeno Road, Fairhope, Alabama. The service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friends and family are invited to
gather to pay tribute to a remarkable woman whose legacy will endure through the generations she cherished.
