Veterans Day is celebrated Nov. 11 but the ceremonies and festivities begin this weekend. Check the list below to find an event near you.

Nov. 4

Loxley - The city of Loxley welcomes the community to a potluck to honor veterans. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share. Meats will be provided. Loxley Civic Center, 4198 Municipal Park, at 6 p.m.

Nov. 5

Fairhope – The city of Fairhope will host the annual Veterans Day Parade to pay homage to the nation's veterans. Come to downtown and salute our local veterans. Parade begins at 10 a.m. and starts and ends at the Fairhope Civic Center, 161 N. Section Street.

Nov. 10

Robertsdale – The city of Robertsdale and Robertsdale Senior Center's annual program honoring veterans begins at 11 a.m. at PZK Hall, 17933 AL - 104. The program includes NJROTC and guest speakers with a lunch to follow. Those wishing to attend should call (251) 947-8973 to be placed on the list and to register all veterans.

Nov. 11

Bay Minette – Festivities begin with breakfast at the Bay Minette Civic Center at 8 a.m. All veterans are welcome and it is free to attend. The parade begins at 10:15 a.m. at Bay Minette Elementary School and concludes at the Eternal Flame on Courthouse Square where a ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. A second ceremony at the Korean War Memorial, located at the Bay Minette Public Library, begins at 11 a.m.

Silverhill – Program at the Silverhill Veterans Memorial, located in Anderson Park on Main Street at 10 a.m. Includes guest speakers, recognition of all veterans, recognition of fallen soldiers.

Fairhope – Fairhope American Legion is hosting three days of live music. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.com for $25.

Nov. 12

Bay Minette – Enjoy live music by Brad Lawley and plate lunches at Halliday Park in honor of our vets. The event benefits the American Legion.
