Veterans Day was observed in Bay Minette with a breakfast, parade and multiple ceremonies.

First Sgt. Noah Davis, of the U.S. Marine Corps, served as the keynote speaker at the breakfast. Afterwards, a Veterans Day procession made its way through downtown Bay Minette and concluded at the Eternal Flame on Courthouse Square for a brief ceremony.

Later, a Veterans Day ceremony was held at the Korean War Memorial on the front lawn of the Bay Minette Public Library. This service honors the 138 members of the B Battery of 711th AAA gun battalion who served during the Korean War. Each year the group holds a roll call ceremony and rings a bell in memory of each deceased member.

Today there are only seven remaining, and only two attended the ceremony, James A. Rabon and Gerald Davidson.

The Baldwin County High School Jr. ROTC led the ceremony to lower the old flag and raise the new one. Flags were also presented in memory of Charles E. Chunn and Tommy Langham, as well as to the family of honoree James R. "Jimmy" Owen. Baldwin County High School student Jacob Ziegler played taps at both ceremonies.
