MOBILE — USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park has announced that executive director, retired Maj. Gen. Janet L. Cobb, U.S. Army, has been appointed to serve on the Alabama Semiquincentennial Commission. Cobb's term is set to take effect immediately.

The Alabama USA Semiquincentennial Commission was created by the Senate Joint Resolution. The purpose of the commission is to plan, promote and implement public celebrations and commemorations of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 2026.
