Gulf Shores has been ranked the fifth-best beach in the United States for 2024 by U.S. News & World Report.
The city, renowned for its dazzling white quartz sands and inviting emerald waters, continues to charm visitors from around the globe.
Gulf Shores' allure stems from its pristine beaches and abundant attractions, including the popular Gulf Shores Main Public Beach. Located in front of The Hangout, this spot is a favorite for its amenities, including showers, volleyball courts and picnic pavilions. Gulf State Park, another local gem, boasts over three miles of serene coastline, offering a tranquil retreat for beachgoers. However, the park's fishing and education pier remains closed for repairs due to damage from Hurricane Sally, with a reopening slated for the fall.
Beyond its breathtaking shores, Gulf Shores' 32-mile coastline teems with activities. Visitors can enjoy fishing, boating and dolphin watching, while families can explore attractions like Waterville USA and the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo.
As U.S. News highlighted, "Tourists can cast a line at Gulf State Park or hop on a boat cruise to spot dolphins. Meanwhile, families with children will appreciate the city's kid-friendly attractions."
