Ty Foundation honors legacy with donations to local Baldwin County schools and programs

In honor of what would have been Ty Drinkard's birthday, the Ty Foundation made several donations to local causes and programs that held deep meaning for him.

On Aug. 30, Drinkard's mother, Daphne Stamps, reflected on how birthdays were a treasured time for her son, filled with family and celebration.

"Birthdays were always a special day to Ty. He loved this day because it meant two things: one was all the attention at Nanny and Pawpaw's and the other being all the cookie cake he wanted," Stamps shared. "So, in Ty's honor we proclaim today to be a special day at The Ty Foundation. We honored our favorite blue-eyed baby boy by shining his light and spreading his love in our community."

The foundation presented donations to Perdido School Athletics, Baldwin County High School (BCHS) Baseball and the BCHS Tiger Den — all organizations that played an important role in shaping Ty's life.

"These places were dear to Ty's heart. These places loved, disciplined, encouraged, shaped his mind, strengthened his spirit and created the foundation that Ty used to become a remarkable athlete," Stamps said.

Stamps highlighted the special connection Ty had with the Tiger Den at BCHS, a program supporting students with special needs.

"Another program that Ty adored was the Baldwin County High School Tiger Den. Ty enjoyed spending time with these students and teachers," Stamps said. "We hope Tiger Den will allow Ty to still have a special place in this room that was so special to him."

The Ty Foundation was established in memory of Ty Drinkard, who tragically passed away in a car accident on Father's Day in 2020. The foundation continues Ty's legacy by empowering others, enhancing educational opportunities and giving back to the community.
