Ascension Sacred Heart has announced that Sacred Heart Pensacola and Sacred Heart Emerald Coast have earned a spot on Newsweek's 2025 list of the best-in-state hospitals.
This recognition places these facilities alongside only 25 other hospitals in Florida, with the Sacred Heart locations being the only ones in the Panhandle featured on the list.
"Sacred Heart Pensacola always strives to positively impact our community through patient care and clinical excellence," said Sacred Heart Pensacola President & CEO Will Condon. "Anyone in our area who needs healthcare can trust that when they enter our hospital, they will receive it with a focus on quality and patient satisfaction."
The rankings, compiled by Newsweek and Statista, highlight 700 hospitals across the United States, assisting consumers in finding trusted medical facilities. This year, the evaluations utilized quality metrics from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the American Hospital Association Annual Survey of Hospitals Database, a nationwide survey among medical professionals, and patient experience surveys from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems. Additionally, a voluntary Patient-Reported Outcome Measures implementation survey was conducted.
"We are grateful for our care teams and support staff at Sacred Heart Emerald Coast who have earned this recognition through their dedication and hard work," said Trey Abshier, Sacred Heart Emerald Coast President & CEO. "They are the reason we are continually honored for quality, patient experience and patient outcomes."
Both Ascension facilities have a history of earning distinguished designations. Recently, Fortune & PINC AI ranked Sacred Heart as one of the top-15 health systems in the U.S., making it one of only two health systems in Florida to receive this recognition. Furthermore, Sacred Heart Emerald Coast achieved a top-rated 'Five Stars' in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services 2024 Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings, a distinction held by only 15 hospitals statewide. Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Pensacola has consistently received 'A' grades for hospital safety from the Leapfrog Group for seven consecutive assessments.
