Family-operated seafood joint Topsail Steamer is opening a new location near the heart of Gulf Shores.
The new location will reside along Gulf Shores Parkway across from Rouses and will bring its unique seafood experience to Alabama's Gulf Coast.
“We’ve worked with a lot of locals,” said Amber McGinley, a resident of Baldwin County who helped bring the establishment to Gulf Shores. “Working with our corporate office and working with all the tourism groups and the business chamber, different people, pretty smooth process.”
At Topsail Steamer, customers can purchase Bay Buckets packed with seafood such as shrimp, oysters, crab legs, sausage and vegetables, available in a variety of options.
These Bay Buckets can feed anywhere from two to as many as five people. They will also offer cornbread and pies, provided by local partner Rooster, based in Fairhope.
Along with all this food, Topsail Steamer also offers seasonings, sauces and butter of your choosing.
“It’s going to be kind of a family experience,” McGinley said. “If you’re here visiting, or if you have something going on, the kids can stay at the pool and stay at the beach or stay at their activity, and then dinner can stay in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before they have to pick it up.”
The ribbon-cutting ceremony for Topsail Steamer will be on Oct. 25 at 1 p.m. In addition, Topsail Steamer will also be featured on ABC’s reality series "Shark Tank" that same day, with the new Gulf Shores location hosting a watch party later that evening. The episode airs at 7 p.m. on ABC.
“We invite everyone out with their friends and their families,” McGinley said. “We’re going to cook some pots. We’re going to have free beer and wine and make the best of this great opportunity to celebrate the organization.”
Residents of Gulf Shores and Baldwin County can stay up to date with Topsail Steamer on social media and on their website. Topsail Steamer is located at 1544 Gulf Shores Parkway D.
