LOXLEY, Alabama -- The Loxley Area Martin Luther King Group hosted its 14th annual march to honor Dr. Martin Luther King on Monday, Jan. 21.

About 20 marchers braved the cold weather, marching from the Loxley Church of God to the Loxley Civic Center, where a short program was held with the theme: “Unity: Together We Can Change Things.”

The program included a welcome and invocation from Pastor Markes Mosley of the Ebeneezer Missionary Baptist Church; song presentation, “I Love You (Lord Today),” by A.J. Fowler; and presentation of the Sojourner Truth poem “Ain’t I A Woman,” by Tylesa Gully.

Guest speaker for the event was Dr. Reginald Crenshaw, director of Title III programs at Bishop State Community College and District 3 representative to the Mobile County School Board.

The program concluded with the singing of “We Shall Overcome.” The annual program is organized by Gloria Autry and Ronnie McBride Jr.
