Tidal Wave Auto Spa, the nation's fourth-largest conveyor car wash company, celebrated its 16th annual Charity Day event on September 20, raising a remarkable $685,142 for local charitable and nonprofit organizations.

This year's event marked a record high for contributions, reflecting the company's ongoing commitment to community support.

Held at Tidal Wave's Foley location at 2550 South McKenzie St., the event partnered with the South Baldwin Literacy Council, which benefitted directly from the day's efforts. Through daily wash proceeds and on-site donations, the local council raised $2,317.70. These funds will help support educational programs aimed at assisting learners of all ages in overcoming barriers to personal success.

"The South Baldwin Literacy Council is grateful for the continued opportunity to partner with Tidal Wave Auto Spa," South Baldwin Literacy Council said in a news release. The organization noted that the event allows them to share their mission with the community and raise funds for vital educational programs while fostering a spirit of fun.

"Tidal Wave Auto Spa's commitment to positively impacting the communities they serve is clearly illustrated through this annual event. It takes a village to make lasting change, and we love having businesses in our area that support the work we do," The organization added.

Across the nation, over 269 Tidal Wave locations participated in the Charity Day event, supporting more than 250 charitable organizations. Over its 16-year history, the event has raised over $2 million, demonstrating Tidal Wave's dedication to making a positive impact in the communities it serves.

"Charity Day brings our communities together to support organizations that are doing incredible work," said Tidal Wave CEO and founder Scott Blackstock. "I'm grateful that Tidal Wave can highlight these truly wonderful organizations during Charity Day and raise funds that help them to continue doing the important and impactful work they are doing within our communities."

In addition to the annual Charity Day event, which has earned two consecutive gold Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards for Best Initiative for Philanthropy and Corporate Giving, Tidal Wave Auto Spa engages in year-round fundraising efforts. The company's fundraising program has raised over $3 million for local organizations, providing a simple and effective way for schools, churches and civic groups to generate funds.
