Posted

The Thomas Hospital Auxiliary is offering scholarships to Baldwin County residents pursuing degrees in healthcare fields.

This opportunity is open to students currently enrolled full-time in accredited colleges or universities, including juniors and seniors working toward a bachelor's degree or those in their final year of an associate degree program. Applicants must provide official documentation from their school verifying full-time enrollment.

Graduate and medical school students are also eligible, provided they have completed their undergraduate studies and been accepted into a health career program. Accepted applicants must submit an acceptance letter into the program as part of their application.

To apply, students should visit the home page of www.thomashospital.org, where they can access the scholarship application. The selection process considers applicants' academic performance, financial need and involvement in the community.

Required materials for the application include a completed online form, official documentation of enrollment status, official transcripts from all colleges attended, an acceptance letter into a healthcare program, a brief personal essay, professional and personal reference letters and a photo of the applicant. All items must be submitted by April 11.

The scholarships are made possible through proceeds from an art auction fundraiser, Auxiliary memorials and used book sales. Bill Scott, a Thomas Hospital Auxilian, currently chairs the Health Career Scholarship Committee.

For more information, contact the Thomas Hospital Auxiliary office at (251) 279-1686 or auxiliary.office@infirmaryhealth.org.
