Thomas Dukes, aged 87, passed away on Jun. 24, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. Born and raised in the Foley, Alabama area, Thomas was a proud Southerner with a big heart, a deep love of the outdoors, and an unshakable loyalty to Alabama football—Roll Tide forever.
A proud Master Gardener, Tom, found joy and purpose in the soil. He loved to be surrounded by outdoor spaces that looked like a living canvas full of blooming plants - tended by his caring hands and true gardener’s heart. He believed that patience, attention, and a little sunshine could bring out the best in any living thing.
A lifelong fisherman as well, Thomas found peace with a rod in hand, casting into quiet waters and soaking in the beauty of nature. But come fall, his weekends were dedicated to Crimson Tide football. Whether at home or with friends, he rarely missed a game and could recount plays from seasons past like they happened yesterday.
Thomas will be remembered for his warm smile and love for tradition. He was the kind of man who lived simply, loved deeply, and brought comfort and kindness to those around him.
His remains will be laid to rest at Pine Rest Cemetery in Foley, Alabama. A private family service will be held. In honor of his memory, his family invites all who knew him to celebrate his life by enjoying a good football game, planting a flower garden, casting a fishing line, or sharing a favorite story—just as he would have loved.
