The Wharf has named Cami Wiles the recipient of its 2025 Wharf Scholarship, awarding her $10,000 for her academic excellence, leadership and community service.

Wiles, a senior at Orange Beach High School, holds a 4.0 GPA and a 31 on the ACT. She has earned the AP Scholar Award and the AP Chemistry Award and scored a 5 on the AP Chemistry exam. She also serves as President of the Thespian Honor Society, earning Superior Ratings at statewide theatre competitions and qualifying for the International Thespians Festival. Her original play was chosen for a top student-written showcase.

Beyond academics and the arts, Wiles is Secretary of the National English Honor Society, volunteering in literacy outreach at local elementary schools. She’s also active in the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta, dedicating time to community service and tutoring.

A former varsity basketball player, Wiles balances her pursuits with excellence and dedication. She plans to attend Auburn University to study commercial music.

The Wharf selected Wiles from more than 70 applicants as part of its annual Anchor Campaign: #AnchorForCommunity. Seniors across Baldwin County competed for the scholarship based on community involvement, academic achievement and a written essay.

“The Wharf is proud to continue our scholarship program for the fifth year,” said Kristen Hammack, management team leader. “Cami embodies the qualities of an outstanding student, and we take pride in recognizing her achievements and active participation. Each applicant has demonstrated exceptional dedication to both their studies and community involvement. At The Wharf, we are committed to nurturing our future leaders and commend the Class of 2025 for their remarkable accomplishments.”

This year’s applicants impressed the selection committee with their dedication and achievements. In response, The Wharf increased the runner-up award amount to $2,500, highlighting its commitment to investing in the community’s next generation of leaders, artists, and changemakers.

Hudson Wilmott was named runner-up and awarded $2,500. He stood out for his strong academic record, leadership in school organizations, and community involvement. Wilmott plans to attend the University of Alabama.

Applications for the 2026 Wharf Scholarship will open in January 2026. For more information, visit www.alwharf.com.
