Army’s largest fundraising campaign of the year, the annual Red Kettle Campaign, is now happening across the Gulf Coast.
With the highest inflation rates in four decades and food and fuel costs rising, The Salvation Army is experiencing a shortage in funding along with an increased demand for services. Donations from the Red Kettle Campaign enable The Salvation Army to serve meals to those in need, provide shelter nights and services for the homeless and help families with rent/utility assistance throughout the year.
Individuals, businesses and organizations who wish to volunteer for the Red Kettle Campaign can sign up by visiting the “Register to Ring” website, www.RegisterToRing.com, where they can select their preferred date, time and location.
“Register to Ring provides great opportunities for community, school, civic, and church groups to easily coordinate the staffing of a kettle location,” Captain Trey Jones, Area Commander of The Salvation Army of Coastal Alabama, said.
The Salvation Army also recognizes the increasing preference among donors for digital payment options.
This year, the Red Kettles will feature QR codes so shoppers can scan the code with their phones and make digital donations.
