Tanger Outlets Foley awards 2024 TangerKids grants to local schools

Tanger Outlets Foley has announced the recipients of its 2024 TangerKids Grants, recognizing local schools for their creative and impactful educational initiatives.

The grants, part of Tanger's national program supporting K-12 education, will fund a variety of projects across Baldwin County schools, with check presentations planned for Jan. 31 at select campuses according to a news release.

The grants will benefit 15 schools in the area, funding projects ranging from reading programs and book clubs to innovative tools for math and flexible learning environments. Recipients include:

Florence B. Mathis Elementary School: Reading Brought to Life and Kindergarten Book Club

Magnolia School: Counselor's Care Fund

J. Larry Newton Elementary School: Bright Readers, Bright Futures and Genius Boxes

Fairhope High School: FHS Garden Club Garden Plots and Relevant Reading Materials

Daphne Middle School: Flexible Learning

Daphne East Elementary School: Calculators

Stonebridge Elementary School: Book Clubs

Silverhill Elementary School: Empowering ELL Families

Loxley Elementary School: Active & Agile

Stapleton Elementary School: Versatile Versatiles

Baldwin County High School: Project Gaming

Bay Minette Elementary School: ABC3D

Tanger Outlets Foley Marketing Director Debra Brown emphasized the company's dedication to supporting education and community development.

"Tanger Foley is proud to support families in our community by investing in student success," Brown said in the release. "Each year, we listen closely to the specific needs of our local educators and provide funding for projects that make a real difference. Over the years, we've seen firsthand how these grants help create more inclusive and productive learning environments, equipping students with the tools they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom."

As part of its nearly 30-year history of supporting schools, Tanger's TangerKids Grants program has contributed more than $3.7 million to education-focused initiatives nationwide. For 2024, the program will donate over $190,000 across the country, with more than 60% of the recipients being Title I schools. Applications for the grants were open from Aug. 12 to Oct. 18, 2024, and winners were selected from numerous applicants in Baldwin County.
