A new festival celebrating tacos and tequila is coming to Baldwin County.
The Tacos & Tequila Festival is the newest festival for Beach Life Events. Owners and event producers Mike and Lisa Yeater are responsible for bringing Baldwin County the Cheese & Chocolate Festival, Mudbugs & Margaritas Festival and Gumbo & Alabama Slammer Festival.
The Tacos & Tequila Festival is bringing some new additions to the Yeater's normal festival formula. The festivals already in the Yeater's lineup are one-day events but the newest will be held over two days at a new venue, the Baldwin County Fairgrounds. This is a departure from Foley's Heritage Park, but it will hopefully draw new visitors who have not enjoyed a Beach Life Event. Another departure is there is no entry fee for this festival.
When asked what she is most excited about, Beach Life Events President Lisa Yeater said, "Being able to offer the community a weekend of fun for the whole family for free. We are not charging for entry or parking."
With a name like Tacos & Tequila, one would expect some tasty bites and you will not be disappointed. Every food truck participating in the event will have a unique taco option along with their regular menu items. There will be snacks and drinks that will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters.
The two-day event is family-friendly, like all Beach Life Events, and offers a schedule packed with entertainment, contests and activities for the whole family. Hank Hopkins with Stone Country will be the first entertainer onstage Saturday and Pandora's Box – The Ultimate Aerosmith Tribute will close out Day One. Day Two brings Wolfy Grin and the Modern Eldorados. Most importantly, a Tacos & Tequila-based festival would be nothing without some mariachi music and the Mariachi Moderno Internacional will take the stage twice a day.
Along with the live entertainment, guests will have activities and contests to keep you entertained. The smallest festival goers will be impressed by the Kids' Zone, a petting zoo featuring exotic animals and pony rides. When it comes to contests, guests can participate in a jalapeno eating contest, water balloon toss, toss the tacos, stein holding and more. Each contest winner receives a cash prize so the burn of the jalapeno may be worth a chance at $50.
When it comes to cocktails for the over-21-year-old crowd, you have options. Of-age guests will be able to purchase margaritas, tequila sunrise and tequila Jello shots along with beer, wine and seltzers.
