Patients at Children's of Alabama got an unexpected visit from some familiar faces earlier this month, as superheroes rappelled down the side of the hospital to lift spirits and bring smiles.
Spider-Man, Batman, Captain America and Superman were among the characters seen scaling the building's walls, much to the delight of children watching from their windows.
The superheroes, who are actually window washers from Sunlight Building Services, LLC, were contracted by Hoar Construction, LLC, to help kick off Superhero Month, a month-long celebration at Children's of Alabama. This year's theme, "Heroes Heal Here," highlights both the courage of the young patients and the dedication of the hospital's staff, who work tirelessly to care for them.
Throughout October, Children's of Alabama will host a variety of superhero-themed events, including a superhero glow party. The celebration aims to honor the strength, resilience and bravery of patients, their families and the healthcare workers who support them.
Children's of Alabama extended a special thanks to Sunlight Building Services, LLC, and Hoar Construction, LLC, for their role in making the day unforgettable for the patients.
