Summerdale Church of Christ to host Family Day Aug. 29

SUMMERDALE — The Summerdale Church of Christ will host Family Day Aug. 29 at the church, 1070 Alabama 59 S. in Summerdale.

Activities, led by Eric Lyons with Apologetics Ministries, begin at 9 a.m. with a combined Bible class: “’Atheist-Making’ Bible Verses You Need To Know,” followed by morning worship at 10 a.m. “The 4 Most Important Questions You Will Ever Ask.”

Lyons is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University, where he earned a B.S. with a double major in Bible and history, and a Master of Ministry degree.

He has served as a full-time member of the Bible Department at Apologetics Press since 2001. He and his wife Jana live in Wetumpka where he has also worked with the Wetumpka Church of Christ since 2007, formerly as a minister and now as an elder.

Lyons has authored or co-authored more than 20 books, including The Anvil Rings: Answers to Alleged Bible Discrepancies (Volumes 1-3), Reasons to Believe, Truth Be Told, Wonders of God’s Creation, and Behold! The Lamb of God.

In addition, he writes regularly for the Apologetics Press website, which receives millions of page views annually from users around the globe.

A COVID-19-friendly fellowship luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by congregational singing at 12:30 p.m. with Minister of Music Eric Lyons from the Wetumpka Church of Christ.

Afternoon worship begins at 1 p.m. with “A Biblical Response to Cancel Culture.”
