Fridays will soon enough be filled with high school football news but until then, fans can get a taste of what’s to come with Gulf Coast Media’s third-annual football Media Day event.
Set to return to the Orange Beach Event Center in The Wharf on Thursday, July 25, sponsorship opportunities are available for the event that has won awards from the Alabama Press Association for best use of video.
Baldwin County’s head football coaches will converge on the Island with key players to preview the 2024 season that is set to kick off on Aug. 22. Interviews will be streamed live on the Gulf Coast Media Sports Facebook page, and fans wanting to see a school in person can come to Orange Beach. There is no admission or subscription necessary to attend or watch.
After the coaches and players are interviewed by GCM Sports Editor Cole McNanna, they’ll get the full star treatment with a photo shoot before heading back out to the practice fields. All of the content will also help create GCM’s annual Baldwin County Fall Sports Preview magazine that is set to be on newsstands before the first football games are played.
“After a memorable football season last year, we’re excited to help kick off another season with local players and coaches fueling our appetite for football. We’ll have all the football talk you’ll be looking for, plus a few other questions to help fans get to know the athletes under the helmets,” McNanna said. “The season will be here before we know it so be sure to follow our social media channels for all the updates as we get closer.”
