Best of the Bay Gumbo Championship
The Eastern Shore Kiwanis Club will host its 11th-Annual Best of the Bay Gumbo Championship. Teams will compete for the title and bragging rights and you get to enjoy their delicious hard work. Held Saturday, Oct. 15, from 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at the Coastal Alabama Community College, 450 Fairhope Ave. in Fairhope. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Children 12 and under free.

Luna's Annual Oktoberfest
Grab your lederhosen and head to Luna's for the annual Oktoberfest event. Enjoy great German food, modern polka music by The Brats, join the stein hoisting contest, games and enjoy lots of Oktoberfest style beers. This one-day event runs from 2 - 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16, at Luna's Eat & Drink, 25689 Canal Road in Orange Beach. Tickets are $12 per person and includes your beer glass. Ages 21 and up. KDC Halloween Party
