Job seekers looking to break into the aviation industry will have an opportunity to connect with top employers at the Southwest Alabama Aviation Hiring Event on March 14.
The event, hosted by SAWDC AlabamaWorks! in partnership with Coastal Alabama Community College, will take place from 8 a.m. to noon at the Alabama Aviation Center, 1975 Avenue C.
The event aims to bring together local businesses, industry leaders and job seekers to strengthen the region's aviation workforce. Employers attending include Airbus, Lockheed Martin, ST Engineering-Mobile Aerospace Engineering, Collins Aerospace, MAAS Aviation, Derichebourg Aeronautics Services and the U.S. Coast Guard. Workforce solutions providers such as Global Employment Taskforce and Landrum Workforce Solutions will also be present.
"We're thrilled to welcome our regional partners to the Alabama Aviation Center for an event that promises valuable connections for both employers and job seeker," said Bridget Wilson, executive director of SAWDC AlabamaWorks!. "This is an incredible opportunity for our community to come together to support employment growth and build career pathways."
Bishop State Community College and Coastal Alabama Community College will be on-site to provide information about aviation training programs available to those looking to gain industry credentials.
The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to dress in business casual attire and bring copies of their resumes, though it is not required.
