FOLEY — South Baldwin Medical Group - Obstetrics and Gynecology has relocated their clinic into a newly renovated space.
The new location at 1725 North McKenzie Street is just north of the South Baldwin Regional Medical Center's main campus in Foley. The new building offers a modernized feel and includes additional patient exam and procedure rooms, spacious ultrasound rooms and multiple waiting areas.
"We are excited to welcome you to the new home of South Baldwin Medical Group — Obstetrics and Gynecology. Our providers and staff continue to deliver exceptional healthcare to women of all ages in a soothing, beautiful new space," said Margaret Roley, CEO of SBRMC.
The practice's previous location was in a building that was approximately 30 years old.
"Medical practices have changed tremendously in that timeframe, with many technological advancements," said Craig Brown, D.O., a provider at the clinic. "This building is perfectly set up to meet those advancements, and when they remodeled it for this purpose, I think they did a really great job with that end goal in mind. Patients come in and they may not know there's another patient in the whole building. They come in, it's quiet and peaceful, they go back to their room, and it just feels so much more private and personal."

The exam rooms include white noise machines that offer an added layer or privacy between doctors and their patients. The new clinic offers more ease of accessibility to other parts of the clinic, making the halls navigable for both patients and staff.
"We have such a beautiful space for the ultrasound, which it is such a highlight of a woman's trip to see her OB to get those views of the baby, that's what everyone is hoping for," said Elizabeth Wilson, D.O., a provider at the clinic. "We have set it up so that it's almost like a quiet little sauna in there, it's very serene. There's a lot of open room so they can bring their family and friends to look at the ultrasound with them and enjoy the experience. It's a very high-quality setting to go to and have everything that you need all under one roof."
The ultrasound room also features two screens, so families can see exactly what the sonographer is seeing in real time.
"We draw blood in the office, we do ultrasounds in the office, we do a lot of procedures in the office, so we offer everything that you would want in a general OB-GYN," said Ricky Leff, M.D., a provider at the clinic.
"It's set up really nice and conducive to work, and that's what I think is most important," Brown said. "But the thing that hasn't changed is that the staff that was at the other office is still here, the same people that have seen people for 20 years, we still have that core group of people. I think that's so important, it gives that family feel, that small town feel that you are home, and you belong here."
The newly renovated clinic is far from the last expansion at South Baldwin Regional. Ground will be broken for the hospital's five-story patient tower, this fall. The new tower will include additional bed capacity, 10 operation rooms, an expanded intensive care unit and a Women's and Children's unit that will be housed on the entire second floor. The total investment of the expansion is roughly $200 million. It is expected to be complete in 2024.
South Baldwin Medical Group - Obstetrics and Gynecology delivered roughly 600 babies in 2021. The clinic's providers include Brown, Leff, Wilson and Martha Eskridge, CRNP. To learn more about the clinic, visit bit.ly/sbmg-obgyn or call 251-943-2141.
