S’mores on the Shore marks the end of summer Aug. 4

It is hard to believe that summer is ending. Soon the school buses will be rolling and the halls of Gulf Shores City Schools will fill with eager minds.

The city of Gulf Shores wants your summer to end on a sugar high with gooey marshmallows on the beach.

S’mores on the Shore is a family-friendly event with free s’mores packets (while supplies last), a DJ and balloon artist. Bring a blanket, beach chairs, family and friends and enjoy an evening around a fire on the Gulf Shores Public Beach.

“We started S’mores on the Shore in 2010 and it quickly became a fan-favorite amongst our residents and guests,” said Recreation and Cultural Affairs Director Grant Brown. “It’s the perfect event for families of all ages who are looking for a little free fun and excitement. When you combine our beautiful beaches, music, campfires and s’mores, it really does make an incredible evening.”

S’mores on the Shore is set for Thursday, Aug. 4 at 6 p.m. at Gulf Place, 101 Gulf Shores Parkway. For more information about S’mores on the Shores, contact the Special Events Division at (251) 968-1171 or visit gulfshoresal.gov/specialevents.
