FOLEY — A steady hum of excitement filled Foley Art Center on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 30, as shoppers browsed the annual Trim-A-Tree holiday market.

The event, which showcases handcrafted treasures from over 120 artists and artisans across the Southeast, has become a beloved tradition for those seeking one-of-a-kind holiday gifts. Saturday also coincided with a pop up show in the parking lot adjacent to the Art Center.

Visitors delighted in discovering an array of unique items, from intricately crafted ornaments and stained glass to wood carvings and jewelry. The market also features original artwork in oils, watercolors and mixed media, alongside photography, hand-woven rugs and driftwood sculptures. Each piece is a testament to the creativity of the juried members of the Foley Art Center, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and originality.

According to some shoppers, they come every year to find gifts for family and loved ones. Some always visit to find local ornaments for a family or work gift exchanges. On Small Business Saturday, many attendees expressed their appreciation for the chance to support local artists while finding gifts that can't be found in big-box stores.

Trim-A-Tree, now housed at Foley Art Center's location on North McKenzie Street, offers more than just shopping. It's a celebration of community and artistry, with the market bringing life to downtown Foley during the holiday season. The relocation from Tanger Outlets has allowed visitors to experience the historic art center firsthand, a cornerstone of the Gulf Coast's cultural scene for over 50 years.

For those still searching for distinctive gifts or festive decor, Trim-A-Tree is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., through Dec. 23. Foley Art Center, a nonprofit, reinvests proceeds into arts education, offering scholarships, school programs and classes for all ages. More information is available at foleyartcenter.com or by calling (251) 943-4381.
