Shark lovers and the merely curious can sink their teeth into a three-day adventure when Shark Fest returns to the Gulf State Park Saltwater Fishing Pier from June 26-28.
The annual event transforms the pier at 20800 East Beach Blvd. into a hands-on showcase of one of the ocean's most fascinating predators. Visitors can watch live shark dissections, explore an impressive collection of shark bones and teeth and learn about the diverse species that inhabit the Gulf. Leading researchers will also be on hand to share their insights into shark conservation and biology.
For families, the festival delivers plenty of interactive fun. Kids can enjoy educational crafts, have their faces painted and get up close with a live ray in the touch tank.
Shark Fest kicks off June 26 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and continues June 27 and 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Parking is free and admission is $5. Visitors can pay online or at the gate. Advance tickets are available at https://reserve.alapark.com/register/shark-fest-2025.
For the latest details and dissection schedules, guests are encouraged to follow the park on social media. For questions, contact the Gulf State Park Nature Center at (251) 948-7275, extension 62093.
