Don't worry parents, Gulf Coast Media has you covered with important dates and deadlines for registering for the 2025-2026 school year across Baldwin County.
With the spring semester still chugging along, midterms wrapping up and spring breaks in progress or soon to start, school registration for next year is likely one of the farthest things on students' minds. For parents, however, the idea of registration can be one of those that is often thought of and rarely looked into early.
Whether students go to the county or city schools, all available information is listed below. For updates on certain deadlines not yet released, check in on this article for any updates as they come in.
Most recently updated March 28, 2025.
Chasity Riddick with Baldwin County Public Schools (BCPS) shared information on BCPS registration with GCM.
BCPS's registration link can be found at www.bcbe.org/registration.
While this link currently lists specifics for 2024-2025 school registration, it will be updated closer to the opening dates for enrollment.
Registration for new Pre-K and kindergarten students will open April 1, and applications can be found at the BCPS link.
New student registration for Grades 1-12 will open May 23.
However, the registration date for returning BCPS students has not yet be determined. Check www.gulfcoastmedia.com or the BCPS registration link for an update on the dates and deadlines for returning BCPS students.
Chezley Neth with Gulf Shores City Schools (GSCS) provided GCM with information on registration for GSCS.
The registration link for GSCS can be found at www.gsboe.org/login/enrollment-registration. Application links will not appear on the site until it is closer to the opening dates.
"Gulf Shores City Schools is excited to welcome new students for the 2025-2026 school year," Neth said.
New enrollments to GSCS, for families within Gulf Shores city limits, can enroll as early as May 26. Three proofs of residency are required to enroll, according to the GSCS website.
Starting on April 21, families currently enrolled in GSCS will receive information on how to complete returning student registration. Returning registration should be submitted by June 1.
Neth said, "Timely completion (of applications) helps the district plan effectively for the upcoming school year."
Alyssa Cherney with Orange Beach City Schools (OBCS) provided GCM with OBCS registration information.
Information on OBCS registration can be found at www.orangebeachboe.org/families/registration.
According to a document Cherney shared on new student registration and current student confirmation, the enrollment window for new Orange Beach kindergarten students has passed with it closing March 15. However, other registration windows are still open.
New students for OBCS, who are residents of Orange Beach, must have two forms of residency proof to register. Registration opens May 1 for new applicants.
For non-residents, a transfer form request will be open from July 5-19. If approved, there is a $2,500 tuition fee and $100 application fee, which must be paid in full before enrollment is official.
For returning students, the confirmation window will be from April 1 to May 2. Two proofs of continued residency will be required for re-enrollment and parents will receive an email on April 1 of their student's "snapcode."
