Sandra Tanner Duncan, born on Oct. 31, 1954, in Alice, Texas, passed away peacefully in Fairhope, Alabama, on Nov. 18, 2024.

Sandra was a proud graduate of Southern Miss, where her passion for education ignited a career that would inspire many. Her dedication to teaching was evident when she earned the distinguished title of STAR Teacher while working as a bookkeeper for the Clinton, Mississippi School System. Her love for the arts extended beyond the classroom, as she was also a talented artist and a devoted baton twirler.

Above all, Sandra was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Edward Tanner and Jimmie Tanner, who instilled in her the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion.

She is survived by her husband, Michael G. Duncan; her son, Christopher J. Duncan (Somerlin) of Fairhope, Alabama; her daughter, Kelli Michelle Duncan Gillman (Joshua) of Robertsdale, Alabama; and her beloved grandchildren, Trace Grant Duncan, Caleb Tanner Gillman, and Annalise C. Gillman.

A visitation was held on Nov. 23, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at Fairhope Chapel located at 19698 S Greeno Rd, Fairhope, AL. 36532. The graveside service took place the same day at 1:00 PM at Memory Gardens of Fairhope, located at 19142 Greeno Road, Fairhope, AL 36532.

Sandra's spirit will live on through her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed. Her contributions to the lives she touched will leave an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
