The Safari Club restaurant on the grounds of the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo reopened Tuesday, Oct. 11 after a sudden closure Oct. 6.

Joel Hamilton, executive director of the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo told Gulf Coast Media Oct. 7 that the closure was triggered when the Safari Club's general manager and office manager had quit. He was hopeful that the closure would be short-lived and had a goal of being reopened within a week's time.

The Safari Club reopened Tuesday, Oct. 11 with abbreviated hours but returned to regular hours Wednesday, Oct. 12.
