ROBERTSDALE — The seniors of Robertsdale recently strutted their stuff on the runway during the "Puttin' On The Ritz" Fall Fashion Show.

The Robertsdale Senior Center hosted the fashion show at PZK Hall Sept. 23. Seniors dressed up and competed for prizes in four categories: sports, casual, business and evening wear.

Mary Williams, who handles day-to-day activities for the center, said the event would not have been possible without the generosity of the hospice groups for providing prizes and volunteering to help, including Alabama Hospice Care, Community Hospice & Palliative Care, Kindred Hospice, Southern Care Hospice Services and Springhill Home Health & Hospice.

"Everyone had a very special time," Williams said.

Three judges, Brooke Butler, Leslie Kyte and Stephanie Kroll, crunched the scores and named the winners in the four categories:

Sports:
First place – Joan Henderson
Second Place – Ruthie Campbell
Third Place – Mary Nabors

Casual:

Business:
First place – Ruthie Campbell

Evening:
First place – Georgia Rudolph
Second place – Joan Henderson
Third place – Martha Dunn

The Robertsdale Senior Center is a place where senior citizens can go to have a safe place for fun activities, lunch-and-learn events, road trips and more. The center offers transportation to medical appointments anywhere in Baldwin County and shopping in Robertsdale for seniors that do not have their own transportation or are unable to physically drive.
