Robert Emmett Hurst, Jr., age 68, was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and passed from this life on April 21, 2022 at home in Fort Payne, Alabama. Robert served in the U.S. Airforce from 1972 to 1974. He then pursued a career in Law Enforcement and on to long-haul truck driving. He ended his working career in Security. He was a lifelong motorcycle and automotive mechanic. Robert was also a Life Member of the NRA and a Charter Life Member of the Gulf Coast Gun Collectors Association, in Baldwin County. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with Susie, his wife of 45 years, going on trips to the mountains and conquering the Dragon at night, protecting her. He loved and was very proud of his children: Robbie, Sean, and Caitie. He is survived by his wife, Susan Rhodes Hurst of Fort Payne, Alabama and Robertsdale, Alabama. Sons: Robert E. Hurst, III (Melanie) of Silverhill, Alabama and Sean J. Hurst (Arren) of Piedmont, Alabama. Daughter: Caitlin S. Hurst of Auburn, Alabama. Grandsons: Robert E. Hurst, IV “Bobby” and Sebastian J. Hurst. Granddaughter: Lilly Henry. Brother: John D. Hurst, Sr. Nephew: John D. Hurst, Jr.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Heritage Baptist Chapel in Loxley, Alabama, on June 11, 2022 at 1 p.m.
