ROBERTSDALE, Alabama -- Robertsdale Elementary School teacher Brittany Whatley and retired RES library science instructor Sandra Sawyer kicked off summer crafts camps June 7 at the PZK Hall in Robertsdale.

The first week of camps, which have moved to the Robertsdale Fire Station, focused on the theme Road Trip USA and featured a video presentation and craft from a different region each day, including Northeast with crafts centered around the Statue of Liberty, Southeast with a beach theme, West with scenes from the wild west, Midwest with a farming theme and Southwest with a dessert landscape theme.

More than 50 campers participated in the first week of camp, Sawyer said with morning camps for ages 6-9 and afternoon camps for ages 10-12.

Crafts for Kids camp began Monday, June 14 at the Fire Station, concluding with Summer Science Fun, June 21-25.
