Risco chosen to lead defending 7A champion Daphne Trojan boys' soccer team

The defending Class 7A state champion Daphne Trojans added a big hire to the coaching staff when they announced Ruben Risco as their new head coach.

Risco has decades of experience playing and coaching at multiple levels it said in the welcome post.

“He is a USSF National ‘D’ Level Certified, holds a USC Advanced National Diploma, and played for Springhill College and the University of Mobile,” it says. “He made appearances in the Premier Development League for the Lafayette Swampcats and Cocoa Expo. He’s coached middle school, high school, and AFC Mobile.”

He has previously held boys’ high school head coaching jobs at McGill-Toolen and UMS Wright as well as was the girls’ head coach at Choctawhatchee in Florida.
