Right-of-way approvals for Baldwin Beach Express II

Posted

Steps were taken last week to start right-of-way acquisition in Baldwin County's plans to build a full 25-mile corridor between Interstaste 10 and Interstate 65.

Baldwin County commissioners voted on Feb. 4 to approve two measures to advance progress of a segment of the Baldwin Beach Express II project from I-10 to Styx River. The actions approved $4 million from the county's capital project fund and approved on-call consultant Volkert Inc. to perform right-of-way acquisition services for up to $282,000.

Previous actions for this projects have been to develop construction plans and work to secure environmental permitting for the corridor. This next step will be conducted in a phased approach.
