Things are changing rapidly, what was true six months ago might not true today, and many books contain obsolete truths, but the Bible is a depository of absolute truth. The Bible tells it like it was, like it is, and like it will be. Isaiah 40:8 reads, "The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever." You need the Bible more than you might think.
You need the Bible to assess the pervasive situation of the world without Jesus. Romans 3:23 reads, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 6:23 reads, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Hebrews 4:12-13 reads, "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account." The divine diagnosis reveals without Jesus you are lost.
You need the Bible to address the perfect solution for the world from Jesus. John 3:16-17 reads, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 reads, "Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you — unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures." The prognosis for the lost without Jesus is promising, but you must take God at His Word.
You need the Bible to access the personal salvation in the world through Jesus. Romans 10:17 reads, "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." John 14:6 reads, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'" Hebrews 2:3 reads, "How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him."
Remember the words of this chorus:
"The B-I-B-L-E
Yes, that's the book for me
I stand alone on the Word of God
The B-I-B-L-E"
The Bible is the most amazing book.
