Have you always wanted to write a song? Are you already a songwriter but want to become a better songwriter?

The Frank Brown International Foundation for Music's Educational Outreach Program is offering a free Youth Songwriters Workshop Nov. 12.

This unique opportunity is open to all youth songwriters still attending school and between the ages of 10 – 18. The workshop is suitable for young writers just starting out, as well as those who have been writing songs but want to hone and improve their skills.

Experienced, professional songwriters and instructors will be on hand to assist students in writing and composing their own songs and to conduct group co-writing experiences. The workshop will cover the fundamentals of songwriting, the importance of rhyme scheme, popular song structures, lyrical development, finding the right melody and more.

The Youth Songwriting Workshop is Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gulf Shores Learning Campus, 20249A State Park Road, Gulf Shores.

Do not wait to register as seating is limited and fills fast. For more information or to sign up, contact Educational Outreach Director, Karen Reynolds at fbisfoutreach@gmail.com.
