GULF SHORES — Registration is now open for two summer camps at Gulf Shores City Schools.
Kicking off first at the end of May is the Gulf Shores Middle School Eco Camp. The camp runs from Tuesday, May 31 - Friday, July 1. Then, it will take place Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. for the remainder of the camp. It is designed for rising sixth-graders, seventh-graders and eighth-graders. It is free to attend, but space is limited.
Eco Camp includes Spanish Immersion, fitness activities, academic support and more. Many days will include both on- and off-campus activities, with visits to the Gulf State Park, located beside the school. GSMS has partnered with Jean-Michel Cousteau's Ambassadors of the Environment to provide students with outdoor adventures including kayaking, biking, hiking and Oyster Farming.
To register, visit www.EzChildTrack.com/GSBOE/Parent and click register under "New Parent Account." Registration will close on Saturday, April 30, at 3 p.m. No late registration will be accepted. Registration must be completed from a computer, not a cell phone, and it is only available online.
There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Tuesday, May 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the GSMS cafeteria. For complete Eco Camp details, follow Gulf Shores Middle School and Gulf Shores City Schools on Facebook. Email email@example.com with any questions.
Then, for four days in June, the 2nd annual Gulf Shores City Schools Fine Arts Camp will return. The Fine Arts Camp is designed for Gulf Shores Elementary School students rising into grades three - six. Lunch will be included in the program.
The camp will run Monday - Thursday, June 6 - 9 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. each day. It is housed on the Gulf Shores High School campus. Students already attending the Gulf Shores Elementary School summer program may attend, and they will be walked over to the high school campus each day.
The cost of the camp is $100 per student. Participating students will have the opportunity to focus on one of the following areas: singing, instrument exploring, art or theater. Accommodations will be made for students wanting to explore multiple areas.
The Fine Arts camp is limited to 60 students. Spots are filled on a first come basis. The registration link can be found on Gulf Shores City Schools' Facebook page. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
