Publix, the renowned grocery chain where shopping is a pleasure, is set to further extend its footprint in Alabama with the unveiling of a new store in Gulf Shores.
The forthcoming Publix supermarket will be situated along Gulf Shores Parkway near Zaxby's, taking over the premises of a former Winn-Dixie establishment. Spanning an area of 65,000 square feet, the new store is positioned within the Paradise Isle Shopping Center.
The new store was scheduled for a grand opening today, April 24 at 7 a.m. This addition to the Publix family marks a significant step in the company's expansion strategy across the state. The Gulf Shores venture is part of Publix's broader initiative to enhance its presence in Alabama. Presently, the company oversees operations at 88 stores statewide, with ambitious plans for further expansion in the pipeline.
Gulf Coast Media reported on the opening of the third Publix in Fairhope opening back in December 2023.
Publix, distinguished as the largest employee-owned grocery chain in the United States, has been actively expanding its reach across the Southeast. Since 2022, the company has introduced over 50 new stores to its roster, marking a period of rapid growth and consolidation within the industry.
