Police: Avoid area of Gulf Shores amid call response

Update: Gulf Shores police say the situation has been resolved.

Gulf Shores Police Department is actively working a call in the 300 block of East 23rd Avenue, a residential area near Meyer Park and Canal Road in the Gulf Pines neighborhood.

Gulf Shores Lt. Bill Cowan said there is no threat to the community or businesses in the area. He said GSPD has received several calls from concerned residents asking if there has been a murder. He confirmed there had not been a murder.

There is a large police presence in the area as of Monday morning, April 10, and it is best to avoid the area at this time.
