There was a handful of familiar faces at the 66th AHSAA North-South Football Classic on Friday, Dec. 13.

Tiaquentin Mims from Baldwin County and Nehemiah Hixon from Spanish Fort, along with Daphne Trojan defenders linebacker Cayden Williams and lineman Marquaes Lambert, all made their presences known at Hancock Whitney Stadium at the University of South Alabama in Mobile against the state's top talent. And we can't get forget about El Capitán — head coach of the South, Kenny King of Daphne.

Hixon led South with 39 yards rushing, according to David Holtsford of AHSAA. Williams' five tackles were the third-most across both teams. After fighting back from a 24-0 deficit, South brought the game to a tie at 24 with just over six minutes left before North sealed the win with three more touchdowns.

With the 45-24 final score, South still holds a 35-29-2 edge in the series, which was first played in 1948.
