Perdido Lady Raiders end season strong

The Perdido Lady Raiders ended their strong season as the 1A County Runner Up and Carley New and Lillie Roberts were also selected for the All-Tournament team.
The Lady Raiders closed out the season with an overall 8-3 record with all three losses falling to the team that eventually won the championship: St. Michael's Catholic School.
Coach Lori Rider said she was proud of her team and their effort all season long.
"We were able to give St. Michael's a loss for their season," she said. "We pulled out wins in close games against bigger schools. I'm proud of how they overcame adversity."
Rider said the team persevered and was constantly seeking ways to improve their game.
"Playing sports during a pandemic is hard. A lot of things are out of their control, but they never gave up despite their difficulties. They worked hard and became better every day. This is a special group all-around and I'm proud of them," she said.
The coach also extended her thanks to the "amazing" group of team parents who made sure the athletes were at practices and games on days when school was not in session.
